This month, we’re featuring Tammy Bingham, owner of multiple Brain Balance Centers in Utah.
My name is Tammy Bingham and I own the Brain Balance Centers in Utah: St. George, South Jordan, Pleasant Grove, and Bountiful. I have two boys, Brody and Wyatt, who were both struggling quite a bit in a lot of different areas. Both of them were very smart and intellectual but struggled with emotions, behaviors, and social skills. Wyatt wasn’t potty trained at six years old, and couldn’t communicate very well, even after years and years of therapies. We had done almost five years of very intensive behavioral therapy, occupational therapy, speech, private schools, nutritional changes, doctors, etc… and we realized we weren’t getting very far. We had spent a lot of time and a lot of money. It got very frustrating and we started to lose hope.
When we heard about Brain Balance, and they said we know why and we know what the issues are, and we know how to help your boys to be able to become what they can be. Even though there weren’t any centers near, I moved across the country with my three children. My husband had to stay home to support us, and I attended the center back East to help my boys.
We knew this was the answer for which people were looking, and we didn’t want anyone to have to continue struggling in the way that we had, if we could help it. When Brain Balance came and even in that first three months of the program and then at six months – the longer we did it, we realized we had a completely new life. We had time to spend with our family.
We could have fun. We could go on a date. We could go on a vacation. The best part is we can now offer that to other families.
The most rewarding part about owning a center is seeing families come in and tell you things that they never thought they were going to see. They are able to say, my child had a birthday party and kids actually showed up. Or, my child can read now and he actually likes it and he has a chance of graduating or going to college. And sometimes when there are hard days or long days and you’re stressed, you’ll get an email or a parent will come in and say that this program, changed their lives completely. That there’s no way they could have survived without it.
